Scope of Works
- Manufacture and install a Quench Pipe to the new MRI machine and upgrade of air conditioning/ventilation ductwork
Manufacture of a Quench pipe from 316 stainless steel. All external supports were also 316 stainless steel. The Quench pipe relieves hot exhaust air from the MRI machine and exhausts it to the top of the hospital some 50 meters above ground level.
To install this pipe the complete height of the hospital was required to be scaffolded. All areas of the pipe within the building that the public could be exposed to, were insulated and clad with aluminum sheeting to provide Personnel Protection from excessive heat.
In addition to this United Industries was also contracted to manufacture and install air conditioning and ventilation ductwork to the same areas affected by this upgrade of the hospital.
