Scope of Works
To manage, fabricate and construct 2 vertical storage tanks (VST), 3 horizontal quality control tanks, piping systems, structural steel, mechanical install and commissioning of the fuel facility.
Project Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the OH&S and environment requirements for the site
- Provision of full manufacturing and certification documentation
- Provision of ITPs, welder qualifications, weld mapping, weld procedures, weld certificates, NDT certificates, test certificates and drawings of designed equipment
- As built documentation including drawings
Mechanical:
- Installation of free issue items from John Holland including valves, actuators, air filter regulators, position indicators and Millipore sample points
- Supply and installation of transfer pumps, including the laser alignment
VST Tank:
- Construction of two VST tanks in accordance with API650 Specification, The erection of the tanks was conducted with a 200 tonne jacking system, due to the air space restrictions at the RAAF Base Pearce (19m D X 12.8m H)
- Completion of NDT to API650 specification
- Hydrostatic testing of the vertical tanks including the supply of water, treatment and disposal (2.2 million litres of water)
- Installation of floating suctions on both VST’s including fabrication and installation of landing support
- Design, fabrication and installation of walkways
- Passivation of all work surfaces including VST internals to ensure all dirt, residues and blasting materials are removed, the internal surface was scaffold from the bottom to the top of the tank making working platform
- Installation of all VST mounted equipment including, vents, instruments and blanks
- Generation of strapping table
Piping:
- Fabrication and installation of the stainless steel piping
- Allowance for pipe modification works to ensure complete fit, site welding, correct orientation of thermal relief valves, correct positioning of high point vents and low point drains (all works complied with AS4041)
- Passivation of all pipe work
Structure Steel Work:
- Construction and complete installation of structural steel including all walkways, access ways and tank access across the site
Commissioning of the Fuel Facility:
- Responsible for the OH&S and environment requirements for the commissioning
- Provision of full commissioning plan documentation
- Coordination of all sub-contractor on site for the commissioning
- Supply of labour and equipment for commissioning
